Mr Arun Brahma is a specialist in Cornea, Cataract, Anterior Segment, Refractive Laser & Lens Surgery.

Having qualified from Manchester Medical School in 1988, Mr Arun Brahma performed his training in Leeds, Manchester and Dundee. Following his appointment as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in the Cornea and Anterior Segment Service at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2000, he set up the Refractive Surgery Suite in 2001, forming one of the earliest hospital services in the country to offer both laser and lens surgery.

Mr Brahma practices at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, and provides his services under the business entity Foresight Surgical Ltd.

In addition to his wealth of experience in refractive surgery, he specialises in the treatment of keratoconus and has introduced several new techniques over the years to the region, including collagen cross linking, Kera-rings, INTACs and topographic guided laser. He has also pioneered numerous corneal transplant techniques in Manchester and is regularly referred patients from across the country and overseas.

A medico legal expert in cornea and refractive surgery, Mr Brahma has helped to train many refractive surgeons, both in the UK and abroad. He has many publications in peer reviewed journals, and is a co-investigator in a number of research studies funded by the Medical Research Council and BBSR Council in Manchester, Lancaster and Cardiff universities.
