OptiLIFT
Laser Vision, Prema, is the second clinic in the UK to offer this revolutionary treatment for sufferers of dry eye due to lower lid laxity.
OptiLIFT by Lumenis is a non-surgical eye care device that uses proprietary Dynamic Muscle Stimulation (DMSt) and radiofrequency technology to tone the periorbital muscles, reduce lower eyelid laxity and improve blinking function
What is Optilift?
OptiLIFT by Lumenis is a comfortable, non-surgical treatment designed to help your eyelids work better. Imagine your eye like a windscreen and your eyelids as the windscreen wipers. Over time, those wipers can weaken and stop clearing the screen properly, leaving the surface of your eye dry and irritated. OptiLIFT gently stimulates the eyelid muscles, helping them regain strength and move more effectively.
By improving how your eyelids blink and spread tears, OptiLIFT helps keep your eyes comfortable, protected and well lubricated, while also supporting a firmer, healthier appearance around the eyes.
OptiLIFT by Lumenis works by gently re-activating and strengthening the muscles around your eyes that are responsible for blinking. During the treatment, small, comfortable applicators are placed on the lower eyelids and surrounding area. These deliver controlled electrical pulses, known as Dynamic Muscle Stimulation (DMSt), which cause the eyelid muscles to contract and relax in a natural, rhythmic way. This is similar to how physiotherapy works for other muscles in the body.
As the eyelid muscles become stronger, blinking becomes more complete and effective. This is important because each blink spreads tears evenly across the surface of the eye and helping to keep it moist, clear and comfortable. When blinking improves, tears are distributed better and evaporate less quickly, reducing dryness and irritation.
OptiLIFT also uses gentle radiofrequency energy to warm the tissues around the eyes. This supports circulation, tissue health and collagen stimulation, helping improve eyelid firmness and comfort. The treatment is non-invasive, requires no needles or downtime, and is performed in-clinic over a series of sessions. Over time, patients often notice improved eye comfort, better tear coverage and a refreshed, more supported feeling around the eyes.
